One of the more unusual projects completed in 2002 is featured in the images above.

The renovation took place in one of the prime apartment blocks overlooking the South Perth foreshore. The first image shows the original kitchen with all four walls screening the magnificent views of the river. The client brief was simple - Open the kitchen out to make the kitchen part of the rest of the lounge area and make the best of the views from the kitchen area. This required the removal of the main wall separating the kitchen from the lounge. Problem: this wall was a major structural wall supporting 6 storeys above.

The Team from WALL MOVERS WA was called in and after consultation with a Structural Engineer, work commenced to remove the wall. Two support columns had to be installed replacing the wall and the cabinetwork which somehow had to be installed around them. This proved to be only a small problem for the KTC Design team and as is seen in the above images, the project was a total success.
